Accounts/Admin Clerk

We are seeking to recruit an experienced accounts clerk to join our team based in our Head Office in Carlisle.

We are looking for stability as this opportunity is long term and the role will suit an enthusiastic and motivated individual who is pro-active and can complete daily tasks to a high standard.

In return we can offer a competitive salary (negotiable depending on skills, knowledge and experience) plus company pension and free onsite parking

The position is full-time permanent 8am – 5pm Monday to Friday (although consideration would be given to part time or flexible hours for the right candidate) and requires accounting experience preferably in the construction industry and ideally will have some knowledge within the following fields, although some training can be given.

Key duties and Responsibilities

  • Purchase ledger
  • Sales ledger
  • Subcontractor ledger and CIS returns
  • VAT returns
  • Processing payments
  • Bank reconciliation
  • Year-end processes
  • Processing Timesheets for payroll
  • Dealing with general enquiries
  • Other ad-hoc accounts and administrative tasks as required

Experience & Skills

  • Sage 50 Accounts
  • Microsoft Excel and other Office programmes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Pro-active, organised and able to prioritise a busy workload
